On February 8, 2022, Solomon Ratt shared stories with the Sask Polytech community. This is a recording of the live zoom event.
Solomon was born on the banks of the Churchill River and spent the first six years of his life with his parents living the traditional lifeways of the Cree. In winter evenings his parents would tell the traditional stories which he loved. When he was taken away to residential school, he no longer heard those stories. He became re-familiar with the stories during his high school years and through university. Solomon has been teaching classes on the Cree traditional stories for 30 years.
He has been teaching at First Nations University for the past 35 years.
